An unlikely discovery It all started by trying to make a wing material that had natural veination similar to a caddis, mayfly, and/or stonefly wing. In Wapsi's efforts to draw and formulate the perfect pattern they stumbled upon a natural gator skin pattern. They were amazed at how similar the pattern is to the natural veination on many down winged insects. This Gator pattern is unique and very lifelike in its appearance. The uses for the material are endless and limited only by the fly tyers imagination. Looks like real wing veins Pattern inspired by nature Makes awesome stonefly and hopper wings
